On the 23rd April at Charles the fifth Castle in Monopoli, at 19, Thomas Raftopoulos and Bartolomeo Allegrini are going to make a comparison between Greek and Italian cookery traditions.
The meeting will be introduced by Rosanna Perricci, Councillor for Culture at Municipality of Monopoli, Pino Vernì, Headmaster at Hospitality and Catering Management Vocational School, Loredana Ratti, President at “Donne per la città” and Presidio del Libro of Monopoli- cultural association. For this event, the teacher Bruna Civilla will be the interpreter from English of the Greek guest.
Talking Lands project is also aimed to transmit knowledge about culture and practices of Greece and Italy. A goal that will be fully achieved thanks to the collaboration with IPSSEOA of Castellana Grotte- with its seat in Polignano a Mare, in which Mino Allegrini chef, on the 22nd and 23rd April will lead students of cookery course with their teachers in order to prepare typical Greek recipes that at the end of the meeting will be shown and tasted by the participants.
Thomas Raftopoulos with Greek origins, took his degree in Economics in Dusseldorf. He is expert and keen on Mediterranean and Middle- eastern cooking, traditional food and gastronomy connoisseur. He works for many cooking newspapers.
Bartolomeo Allegrini- expert in patisserie and international cooking, after gaining a long experience within the activity of his family, he worked for many relevant Italian and foreign firms, from Naples, Siena and Milan. He was pastry -chef on Princess Cruises, in Innsbruch, from Athens to Thessaloniki, where he manages a gastronomy and patisserie activity.
